Originally released in 1999 and reissued in 2008, THE WEST is the third album by San Francisco ambient electronic duo Matmos. As with their other albums, THE WEST is a sometimes disorienting blend of blissed-out electronic textures and scrappier, noisier elements, balanced between electronica and post-rock. Highlights include "Last Delicious Cigarette" and "Tonight the End."
